Mr. Hamel is senior vice president, corporate strategy and development, Orbital Science Corporation, responsible for leading strategic initiatives in current space and missile markets and adjacent areas, assessing new technology and product development, and supporting company growth. Previously, Hamel was commander of the Air Force Space Command’s Space and Missile Systems Center and Air Force program executive officer for space. Hamel’s Air Force career included serving as commander of the 14th Air Force “Flying Tigers.” Hamel earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master’s degree in business administration from California State University.
