General Story is deputy commanding general for operations, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Forces Strategic Command.  Previously, he was director of operations, Joint Forces Component Command - Space, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.; commander, 1st Space Brigade; chief of operations, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Forces Strategic Command; chief of staff, U.S. Army Space Command; aviation officer for III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas; commander of the 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, La.; and professor of military science, University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Story earned an associate’s degree from New Mexico Military Institute; a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mercer University; and a Master of Arts degree in space systems management from Webster University. Story’s military education includes the Command and General Staff College, Armed Forces Staff College, and a Senior Service College Fellowship.
