
Ambassador Harrison is the Allan & Malcolm Lockheed and Glenn L. Martin Professor in Political Science at the U. S. Air Force Academy, and director of the Eisenhower Center for Space and Defense Studies. Previously, he was a member of the Air Force Academy on three occasions; was a Distinguished Visiting Professor of National Security at George Mason University; a Diplomat in Residence at Colorado College; adjunct professor of business at Colorado State University; was the first dean of the Near-East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies of the National Defense University; the chief executive officer of Specialty Vehicles International; and was appointed by President George H.W. Bush to be the ambassador to Jordan. Harrison earned an undergraduate degree in political science from San Jose State University and a doctorate in government from Claremont Graduate School.
